Galatea

The first section to change was the moving platform. It was always intended to move in response to the player’s weight, originally the platform moved forward and backwards and just led to the next section. This was changed to the current version of an ice-cream that moves up and down to adjust for the additional section of the ribbon.

The arm section used to be a moving platform from which the player needed to ramp off. This was changed to make that section slightly easier after the ribbon section. The teacup section was made deeper to make it more obvious to the player that they should try and balance on the rim.

In the Galatea project, I served as Art Director and Model/Texture Artist, managing 3D modeling, texture creation, and asset optimization. I also programmed UI elements and the main menu, facilitated Scrum processes, created concept art, and handled administrative tasks.

The Mechanics

The core mechanics are kept simple. The player can apply motion to the sphere in a particular direction to move. The player can turn into a cube which stops the player dead in its place. The player must collect 3 keys to make the gate accessible
